Aerosol Filling Machine Maintenance Checklist - Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annual Care

2025-08-02

Aerosol Filling Machine as the core equipment of the production line, its stable operation directly affects production efficiency, product quality and equipment life. Scientific and standardized regular maintenance can effectively reduce the failure rate, reduce downtime, and ensure long-term stability of filling accuracy. The following covers the daily to annual maintenance list of the whole cycle, to help enterprises systematically manage the maintenance of equipment.

1.Daily Maintenance (before daily startup / after production)

Core Objective: Ensure that the basic state of the equipment is normal, remove surface abnormalities in time, and avoid the expansion of small problems.

(1) Comprehensive cleaning

Wipe the surface of the equipment (including filling head, conveyor belt, control panel) with a dust-free cloth dipped in neutral detergent to remove residual material, oil and dust to prevent crystallization or corrosion. Focus on cleaning the inside of the filling nozzle and use a special brush to remove material residues to avoid clogging and affecting the accuracy of the next filling (especially for high-viscosity or easily crystallized materials).

(2) Material and energy system check

Confirm that the liquid level of the raw material Storage Tank is sufficient, the pipeline is not leaking, no blockage, and there is no obvious accumulation of impurities on the surface of the material filter. Check the pressure of air source (must meet the rated value of the equipment, usually 0.6-0.8MPa), check whether the air pipe interface is loose, whether the drain valve is normal drainage. Verify that the power supply is firmly connected, the voltage fluctuation range is ≤±5%, and the emergency stop button and other safety devices function properly.

(3) Verification of the status of key components

Observe whether the filling head gasket is intact, without deformation or damage;

Test run for 1-2 minutes, listen to the sound of the equipment running whether it is uniform, without abnormal noise (such as metal friction, motor jamming sound).

2.Weekly maintenance

Core objective: to safeguard the efficiency of the transmission and filtration system and to prevent increased wear and tear of components.

(1) Filter system cleaning

Disassemble the air source filter and material filter, blow back the filter element with compressed air (or rinse with water and then dry, food-grade equipment requires pure water) to remove clogged impurities; if the filter element is broken or clogged seriously, replace the filter element with the same specification in time.

(2) Maintenance of transmission parts

Add special food-grade lubricant (or equipment specified models) to the chain, gear, guide and other transmission parts to ensure smooth operation and avoid dry friction; chain tension should be moderate (sagging ≤ 2% of the span), too loose is easy to jump teeth, too tight is easy to wear. Check the belt tightness, if there is slipping or cracks, adjust or replace it in time to prevent unstable power transmission.

(3) Sealing performance test

Check the O-rings and gaskets at the sealing place of filling cylinder and valve interface, if aging, cracking or deformation is found, replace the seals with the same material immediately to prevent material leakage or loss of air source.

3.Monthly Maintenance

Core objectives: calibrate accuracy, investigate deep-seated hidden dangers, and ensure stable core performance of the equipment.

(1) Filling accuracy calibration

Using metrologically certified electronic scales (accuracy ≥ 0.1g) and standard measuring cups, randomly select 10 bottles of filled products for weighing/measuring to ensure that the error is ≤ ± 1%; if out of range, reset the parameters through the control panel and calibrate again.

(2) Electrical system check

Open the electrical cabinet, clean the internal dust with a vacuum cleaner (avoid using a wet cloth to prevent short-circuiting), check that the wiring terminals are not loose and oxidized, and that the insulation layer of the wiring is not broken. Test the sensitivity of sensors (e.g. level sensor, positioning sensor) to ensure accurate signal transmission and avoid false trigger shutdown.

(3) Power components status assessment

Check the cylinder piston rod for scratches, rust, smooth operation without jamming, and end connectors for tightness without looseness; if there is air leakage, replace the seal or cylinder. Surface temperature of servo motor, pump body and other power parts ≤60℃ (detected by infrared thermometer during operation), no abnormal temperature rise in bearing parts.

4.Annual Maintenance (performed by specialized technicians)

Core objective: deep maintenance of the core components of the equipment to extend the service life and restore optimal performance.

(1) Comprehensive disassembly and cleaning

Dismantle the core modules such as filling system, glass bead releasing mechanism, etc., and carry out ultrasonic cleaning (food/pharmaceutical-grade equipment needs to be rinsed with sterile water) on precision parts such as pistons and valve seats to remove internal oil and dirt.

(2) Replacement of wearing parts

Uniformly replace all seals (O-rings, gaskets), filter elements, worn-out transmission gears/chains, and aged cables and wires to avoid frequent shutdowns due to piecemeal damage.

(3) Accuracy and performance debugging

Calibrate the servo motor parameters and filling stroke to ensure stable flow of piston pump; debug the vibration frequency of automatic glass bead releasing mechanism to ensure the accuracy rate of glass bead releasing ≥99.9%. Carry out 8-hour full-load operation test, record the filling speed, accuracy, failure rate and other data to ensure that the indicators meet the factory standards.

(4) Safety and Compliance Check

Verify that the grounding resistance of the equipment is ≤4Ω, and the response time of the emergency stop device is ≤0.5 seconds, which is in line with the electrical safety standards; for the parts that come into contact with food/pharmaceuticals, check the material compliance (e.g. the corrosion resistance of 316L stainless steel).

Maintenance Records and Suggestions

Establish the Equipment Maintenance Record Sheet to record in detail the time, content, replacement part model and operator of each maintenance, so as to facilitate the traceability of the equipment status.

Maintenance tools need to be specialized (e.g. torque wrench, precision gauge) to avoid damage to the equipment due to improper tools; maintenance of equipment in the food / pharmaceutical industry needs to be carried out in an aseptic environment, and the operator needs to wear clean clothes.

By strictly implementing the above checklist, the MTBF of aerosol filling machines can be extended by more than 30%, which significantly reduces the production cost and ensures the continuous and efficient operation of the production line.
